Why I Chose Dreams Flora Spa & Resort for My Destination Wedding - Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Last month I did a site visit to Dreams Flora Resort & Spa in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (where Derick and I have chosen to have our destination wedding) with my sisters and it was perfect! The visit also functioned as a mini-bach planned by my MOHs aka sisters and it was so much fun.
The resort opened in February 2023 and there were limited photos and video available online - so I knew I had to see it in person to know for sure. With that said, our stay at Dreams Flora really cemented the decision we made to have our destination wedding there. Below are some of the top reasons why:
Rooms are beautiful, clean, and spacious. We stayed in the Preferred Club Tropical View Double Room and loved it. I did not get to see the other room categories, but with this room not having an ocean, pool view, or swim-up, we were still very happy with this room. Check out the video below!
Option to get Preferred Club. You can choose to have an elevated experience by getting Preferred Club (which is what we did)
You kick-off your stay by checking in the Preferred Lounge which is for Preferred Club guests only. It has a bar with premium liquors, snacks and dessert all day, and a nice indoor and outdoor lounge area which you have access to throughout your stay.
There are two private Preferred Club pools, one for adults-only and one for families. We frequented the adults-only pool and it was fantastic
You get access to Preferred Club only restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
They also offer special concierge services, aka a butler who messages you through WhatsApp to help with anything you need like dinner reservations, tours/activities, etc.. We never used ours though unfortunately.
In addition, the rooms are located in premium locations on the resort!
So many restaurant options. The resort has 8 restaurant options:
For dinner a la carte: Asian, Seafood, Mexican (preferred club only), Italian. Then buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Two seaside grills - The Seaside Grill which is available for breakfast and for Preferred Club guests and dinner for all guests. The Barefoot Grill which serves grilled snacks like hotdogs and fries
24 hour cafe serving coffee, snacks, and ice cream!
And ROOM service. We ordered every night and it came pretty quickly compared to other resorts we have stayed at and the food was actually really good! Recommend the caesar salad and margarita pizza :-)
We tried to eat at every restaurant, but did not get to try the Mexican one. The food and staff were great, however some restaurants did have slower service at the time we went (seafood for dinner and breakfast Preferred Club at the Seaside Grill), but hopefully that was just a one-off
Resort is beautiful. The entire property underwent a magnificent renovation after transitioning from its previous ownership, resulting in a remarkable transformation. The atmosphere immerses you in a true island experience, with charming tiki hut roofing scattered throughout and multiple pools (for aesthetics rather than swimming) seamlessly integrated as you make your way towards the beach, evoking a sense of wandering through a jungle-like paradise. The resort's size is perfectly balanced, allowing for convenient navigation without long distances to cover. You'll appreciate the abundance of open-air spaces, with the cool comfort of air conditioning reserved for the inviting restaurants and lounge areas, providing a welcome retreat from the tropical climate.
Wedding venue locations! They have a number of wedding venue spaces to choose from. They offer 4 different beach locations, a few garden options, and then some other venue options like the Blue Dorado, Seaside Grill, and Upper deck of the pool area.

Offer a bridal suite to get ready! They have a really nice bridal suite that they offer to their couples to get ready in for additional charge. Perfect so that you and your bridal party can get ready together!

We are so excited to have our destination wedding at Dreams Flora Resort & Spa and celebrate with our close family and friends. Highly recommend a visit to this resort if you plan to go to Punta Cana.
